NCR launches self-service bill pay solution for fast-growing mobile markets

Technology giant, NCR, provides devices, solutions and infrastructure to support rapidly expanding mobile markets like Africa.

In fast growing new markets, resources become stretched and there is the risk that infrastructure, trained staff and customer service will suffer. One such market is the mobile market across Africa, particularly in the faster growing economies.

Enter NCR with a solution that relieves all three bottlenecks.

Their solution is based on a new kiosk that lets consumers buy mobile SIM cards, phone credit and pay bills quickly and easily. This allows staff in phone shops to deal with customers who have more complex requirements. Paying bills, topping up a prepaid account or buying extra SIM cards is taken care of by the kiosk. The kiosk, of course, can be set in railway stations, bus terminals and marketplaces.
